With the ever-changing situation before us, the pastors of Olivet want to do our best to keep you up to date with the latest news regarding church life. Please carefully read through the following update.
First, let us continue to walk by faith and not by fear. While the culture around us is chaotic and frenzied, let's pray that God would give us hearts and minds that are at rest in Him. That we would live in humble dependence upon Him exercising great confidence in His sovereign care.
Second, let us intentionally look for opportunities to do good and help others. As a church family, we want to love and serve one another in any way we can. That being said, if you need assistance, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the church office at 316-942-2246. The office will continue to operate under normal hours, Monday - Thursday, 9:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Third, until the ban is lifted, we will be posting video devotionals to our website and Facebook page every Saturday. Accompanying each devotional will be a worship guide filled with discussion questions, prayer points, and songs. We encourage everyone to watch the devotional and walk through the worship guide at whatever time works best on Sunday. Additionally, we encourage you to take pictures of your worship time and post it to our Facebook page as a way to foster encouragement and edification.
Fourth, we challenge you to remain faithful in your giving. Obviously, the church’s finances aren’t our primary concern, but they are a concern. We encourage you to give online, via text, by mail (3440 W. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS, 67203), or by dropping your offering by the office during the work week.
Ministry is needed more than ever and your faithful giving will help us continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus during these challenging times. However, to be very clear, you should feel no guilt if you cannot give at this time. If the Lord has blessed you and you are able to give generously, then we ask you to please do so. We recognize that many are hurting and will struggle in the days to come, and we're asking the Lord to richly bless what is given.
Fifth, stay in the loop. In order to keep everyone on the same page, look for the latest updates on our website ("COVID-19 RESPONSE UPDATE"), the Olivet Wichita Facebook page, and via the weekly email.
Lastly, know that you are constantly on the hearts and minds of your pastors. We love you and are praying for you. May the Lord give you strength to live and speak for Him in these turbulent times. "Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain" (1 Cor. 15:58).
